Human Revolution, The Musical

Soka Gakkai Malaysia Selangor presents an original musical production, adapted from the novel of a true story, Human Revolution.

The book takes off after Josei Toda (2nd President of Soka Gakkai) was released from prison; his detention due to the oppression of freedom of religion in Japan during World War 2. And while he emerged from the prison as a free man, many people around him were shrouded by despair and some were at the brink of death due to the ongoing war.

Seeing the sufferings of the people around him, Josei Toda had vowed to realize his mentor, Tsunesaburo Makiguchi's (1st President of Soka Gakkai) dream to rebuild Soka Gakkai, a value creating society, that can be attained through the spread of Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism to the whole of Japan. This book captures the very spirit of Josei Toda on overcoming all his challenges, to emerge victoriously in every struggle of his life and how his determination, changed the lives of many.

A musical that lets you walk through the footsteps of Josei Toda's life as a true disciple, a dedicated teacher, a self-less mentor and the destiny that led to the encounter of his most loyal disciple, Daisaku Ikeda, known as Shin'ichi Yamamoto (pen name in the novel), who is also none other than Soka Gakkai International's President today.

This November and December, take a journey to the heart and soul of this story and discover the unbreakable bond of a disciple and his mentor, that further led to a change in the destiny of millions of lives throughout the world.

A wise man once said:
"A great human revolution in just a single individual will help achieve a change in the destiny of a nation and further, can even enable a change in the destiny of all humankind." - Daisaku Ikeda
So true.

Re-telling the greatness of a single man's Human Revolution. This is what this compelling musical is all about.

And, this is the very musical which I will be performing in at the end of this year. :)
