RedRibbon Days's Annual Company Dinner 09

After exactly a month working here, I had the pleasure of attending the RedRibbon Days Company Annual Dinner. It was held in Westin KL on a Friday night. I was looking forward to this day not only because I've never had the chance to dine in Westin before, but also I thought it was a good chance to get to know my bosses and colleagues better.

Shiva

We left for dinner from our office separately. Shiva followed my car whereas Sherin, Nik and Ming were in another. Thankfully Shiva followed me because she was also my navigator for the day! :D I seriously needed her because she knows all nooks and crannys, basically all about KL lah like the back of her hand, whereas I know KL like the back of my butt. Haha. But unfortunately, even having to go through little lanes and shortcuts, we still didn't manage to escape from the horrible Friday KL jam. It seems everyone know about your backdoors already lah Shiva! ;)

Finally after arriving, we thought we were going to be there first because it was jammed packed everywhere and we used shortcuts, but when we arrived, Sherin, Nik and Ming were already tucking in the appetizers! When asked how did they skip the jam? They said they used the Smart Tunnel. Immediately when they said that, the sound of the drum beat that usually follows after a comedian delivers a punchline played in my ears. Ba-dap-doo-doom-dsssshhh.... Shiva was right; Guess we didn't have the 'smarts' to use the Smart Tunnel. Hahaha!

Anyways, our dinner was held in EEST, a Pan Asian restaurant influenced by the best food, culture and values of Asia. The restaurant has really nice interior design as well, especially with their 5 individual open kitchens for each distinct cuisine. By the way, you can give this dining experience as a gift as well guys. Check it out. Anyways, when Shiva and I finally sat down in our
seats, I remembered one of the first things Sherin said to us was, "Champagne?" hahaha! Oh yes, some champagne would be very nice to start the evening. ;D

Nik & Sherin with their "O'Brien presents". ;D

Our appetizers were the sashimi platter, spring rolls and fish cakes. I thought the fish cakes were really good. It’s so much bigger and juicier than the usual fish cakes I’ve tried so far. After ordering our mains, we played the Secret Santa game where we exchanged the gifts we bought for one another. I know it is way past Christmas but who cares?! Everybody loves presents! Hahaha. My secret santa got me a Majolica Majorca Honey Pump Lipgloss. Thank you Secret Santa! The lipgloss seriously smells yummy! I feel like eating it every time I use it. :D

After the Secret Santa game, we played another game called “Statement about Me”. This is where we needed to come up with 3 different statements about ourselves, where one is a lie and two are true. Then each of us will get a turn to declare our self statements while the rest will decide which of the statements is the lie. My statements were:

1) I used to play Snow White in school.
2) I was the sportswoman for 3 years in high school.
3) Although I am from Klang, I don’t really fancy bahkuteh that much actually.

Hahaha. I know la it’s damn lame and people who know me since young would immediately know which is the lie! But I shall leave it for those who don’t know me so well to decide yourself then. Then, my statements got even lamer after the 1st round cause we needed to come up with statements on the spot! I shall not reveal that here! But oh well, lame or not, it really was a fun way of getting to know everyone better! Good game Ming!

Ming

All of us ordered Teppanyaki for our mains. We ordered salmon, scallops, king prawns and soft shell crabs. The food overall was not bad, but it could’ve been better. Maybe its just one of their not-too-good days.

After dinner, Ming came up with another game for us to play. Each of us had to think of someone famous, and the others will ask yes or no questions to guess who the person is. If there was a winner for this game, it will definitely be Sherin. Cause it definitely took us looooong enough to guess the person, no wait, the ‘thing’ she was thinking about, was actually the Statue of Liberty! Hahaha. Good one Sherin! This game then somehow led us talking about entertainment gossips. It was so funny because we found out that we have our very own E! News in the office which is my boss, Nik! Just ask her about the latest scoop in Hollywood now, she would know! :P

Overall, it was a good night out. After saying goodbyes, everybody left with plans after the dinner, while I left to head back to a different country, Klang. Would love to hang out with friends since I was already in KL, but didn’t want to take the risk staying up too late considering I will be involved in my very 1st event with RedRibbon Days the very next morning. Was excited about that event actually. Will be writing about that event real soon!

Anyways, till my next post guys.

Gifts beyond the box.

For those who didn't know, I just started on a totally new job in a company called RedRibbon Days just last December 09.
It's actually a really cool online gifting company with a concept that is pretty new here in Malaysia but totally takes the whole gifting business on to a whole new level.

So instead of selling the usual physical and tangible products as gifts like flowers and so on, RedRibbon Days sells memorable experiences as the gift! How cool is that? And how often do you get to find these things in Malaysia anyway?

So if you're running out of ideas and are done giving perfumes, wallets, flowers (not that I have anything against these items!) and so on as gifts, I can be sure you will be spoilt for choice with RedRibbon Days. With over 500 experiences and counting, you will get to give awesome gifts such as a "Pilot for a Day" experience, "Chocolate Body Spa" experience and many, many more.

Haha I could go on and on about this, but best if you check it out yourself! www.redribbondays.com.my

First of many firsts.

I have never ever written a blog. Never thought I would too. I think maybe, I'm just not the type of person who can really express myself well, for some reason, especially through words. Weird. I know.

Oh well, it's a brand new year, and as I'm always up for challenging myself and trying new things (and also because my boss asked me too :P), writing a blog shall be the first of many more firsts for me this year. And as this is my very first official post in my very first blog, I thought it is only right to give the world a proper greeting.

So Hello World. Err, nice meeting yah! :D

Well, you will be hearing from my pretty soon. So, till my next post then!
