My 1st RedRibbon Days Event
As I am a newbie in the company, my bosses asked me to attend a coming event organized by RedRibbon Days (yes, RRD does events as well) to help assist in whatever way I can and basically to be more exposed to how organizing and managing events are done. And guess what event it was?
It was a Transformers themed birthday party for a 9 year old boy. :D
Not knowing how the party was suppose to go or how it was suppose to be decorated when I arrived, I just jumped on board and tried to help out as much as I can. Held in a pretty restaurant called Vicenzio in Bangsar; the entire top floor was booked for the party. When I arrived in the morning, although the decorations were far from done at that time, I could already tell that this was going to be a really cool transformers party by just looking at all the decorations around still waiting to be placed up. I could see Transformers themed napkins, balloons, little banner thingies, posters, Autobot masks, table covers...etc. In case you're wondering where can we get these decorations here in Malaysia, well, I don't know about that because some of the decorations are from the US. *kewl...*
Kids parties these days aren't like it used to be anymore. Back then, birthdays are all held in the house where our moms will usually be the ones that cook. Menu? Haha, I can't remember exactly, but there will always be the standard 3 dishes; Fried Rice, Fried Bi Hun and Curry Chicken. Right? Right? Hahaha.
Now? For this birthday event, I don't know the names exactly but there were some really awesome italian spaghetti, fresh prawns, chicken...etc. Bottomline was, let's just say the moment I saw the waiters bringing the food out, my shameless tummy immediately responded to it. Haha. And what's more? Apart from just having Transformers decorations, an awesome buffet line up and dining areas, there are also areas specially for Face Painting, Cookie Decorating and even a Movie area, playing what else, but the latest movie of Transformers.
After all the birthday banners are up, balloons arranged, napkins folded nicely into the cups, movie projector all set, face painting lady and cookie decoration section all ready, the guest started arriving and that's where we have to be up on our toes in ensuring everything to run smoothly.
One of the best parts of this event for me, are the kids. :D Although I'm not particularly gifted with kids, I do love observing them. Cracks me up every time when kids are just so easily amused. From how they get all excited during a thrilling scene when watching Transformers, their cute attire or even when they were dancing goofy-ly during the fun & games session. I just love that innocent glow kids have in their eyes.
Speaking of the fun & games session, this was actually the most entertaining part of the whole event. Led by a 'Children's Entertainer guy', the kids had to come up and dance with different masks and songs. What was also really hilarious is the fact that they were dancing to music that normally play in clubs such as Low by Flo Rida and Black Eye Pea's Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night" and so many more! Haha! What happened to music from Barney and Friends? Or harmless music like Sha La La La La? Hahaha.
All in all, it was a great party for everyone. I believe if I was one of the kids, I would have enjoyed it through and through. From watching parts of Transformers while eating pizza (before the real food arrives), sharing laughter and fun with fellow friends, getting your face painted, right down to getting door gifts at the end of the party; Won't you have an awesome time as well?
.....
Mmmm, if I was 9 and plan to have a themed birthday party just like that, I wonder what theme will I choose?
Nyehehehe. :)
